Academy of Business & Retail Management’s important work garners plaudits in New York
The London-based Academy of Business and Retail Management (ABRM) has long held the view the meaningful development comes through interaction, knowledge sharing and partnership, and from its inception it has worked assiduously to foster international partnerships. A notable success has been its annual International Business & Economic Conference in New York, which latterly has been held in association with Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York, USA.
The 8th International Conference on Business & Economic Development (ICBED) which took place over the 8th-9th April 2019 not only resonated deeply with attendees; but saw ABRM’s work and partnership endeavours receiving public recognition of its on-going work. During the Conference an official Proclamation Certificate from Congresswomen Yvette D. Clarke, Representing the Ninth Congressional District of New York was presented to Dr P. R. Datta and ABRM saluting their efforts and vision.
Rodneye Bichotte, the Assembly of New York Member for the 42 District also wrote to acknowledge the contribution that the Academy is making internationally.
“ABRM has developed an indisputable reputation based on its production of academic journals, organization of international conferences and the high impact training of institutional, business and fellow legislative leaders.”
Similarly, there was recognition from Gregg Bishop, Commissioner of the NYC Small Business Service:
“We applaud the conference for providing space for attendees to learn about contemporary issues impacting business and economic development, explore international models of economic development, and consider the pedagogy of business and economic development.”
Dr P. R. Datta, Executive Chair of ABRM welcomed this recognition:
“I am thrilled that the Academy has received such acknowledgement for its work. We are proud to have forged a deep and meaningful partnership with Medgar Evans College and feel even more motivated to reach out and encourage others to do the same. It is humbling to be receiving recognition from Representatives of Congress, Senior Municipal Representatives and those at the forefront of entrepreneurial activity in the US.
These are exciting times for those prepared to raise their sights and we look forward to consolidating what has been achieved to date. Our work in the UK and internationally continues, and amongst other things we are already well advanced with preparations for the 9th International Conference on the Restructuring of the Global Economy (ROGE) taking place at the Säid Business School, University of Oxford from 8th-9th July 2019.”
